About Me - Part One
about : mid
Allegedly, a biography and a photo of me will enhance my credibility and people will be more likely to respond to my articles. But before you look at a photo, try to imagine what I look like now. Is it a favourable image? How old am I? Am I good looking or ugly? Hair? Glasses? Scars? Double chins? etc.
Allegedly, people think that good-looking people are more intelligent and that they are easier to relate to and other positive things. So what if I am not so good-looking? Will your opinion of me drop when you see my photo? If I am a Brad Pitt look-a-like will you visit my site more often?
A final question to ask before you click and read the full article: does it make any difference if you see my photo or not? Would you rather see a photo of me or does it not matter to you? Please pause just a moment to answer these questions. I think you may find out something interesting about yourself by doing so.
Whenever I read the bio or see a photo of someone I've got to know a little from posts on blogs or forums, I am always surprised. I build up these imagined concepts of people from their words, but the reality is always different, sometimes better, sometimes worse. And of course, that would change again if I met them...
Here is the most flattering photo I could find;-) (Hover)
OK, so I am not giving much away! I have previously been reluctant to divulge personal information because of such things as identity theft. However, I am feeling bolder now and I will post a brief biography and an up-to-date photo in the near future. Meanwhile, tell me what your answers to the questions above were, or what you think about About pages and personal info. If I get no responses I reserve the right to change my mind!

Still finding out about you – I do want your help after all.
But now intregued (sp) – damn nearly skipped the para about how important is the photo, so keen I was to find out what you looked like, the para was in fact what i usually think in such circumstances – what does it say about me? That I am an animal – probably nothing more.
what it says about you is rather more interesting, cos you have managed to write it down – what does it say about me? – got to go i cant really justify this, I am at work.
Peter,
I care. Most people are so busy trying to survive that they are not politically active or they, more often in industrialized countries, feel that they can not affect the greater social, cultural and religious structures of the world at large. But you care and I care – we just have to keep working to help others see that it is in their best interest to care as well.
Empathy seems to be in short supply nowadays but I feel that it still exists deep in every person’s heart. My nephew once said to me, “I can not stand the pain when I allow things to matter – everything is so fucked up.”
My compassion and empathy are expressed in the contempt I reveal for the perpetrators of lies and those that work against peace, happiness, contentment and social justice for all. A metaphor for action – Jesus overturned the tables of the loan brokers when they set up shop in the temple.
