Channel 4 showed Ghosts last night at 10pm. They pushed it a bit in the week so hopefully a lot of people will have seen it. What struck me was how thoughtlessly the illegals were treated by ordinary people like you and me. I hope the film struck other viewers the same way and thus raise the general consciousness of the public.

Social problems are ubiquitous contributors to the private suffering of individuals. Social problems shape the current conditions and the future direction of families and nations. Unfortunately, problems such as human trafficking, slavery, and sex abuse still proliferate in the 21st Century. Short of genocide and homicide, these crimes are the most abhorrent illustrations of human cruelty; they attack the very core of personhood and destroy the essence of human dignity.

Make Ignorance History 0

The Make Poverty History campaign may have made progress towards relieving poverty. Time will tell if the progress was permanent or just temporary. Hopefully lives have been saved, less people have been trafficked into prostitution or sexual slavery and more people will wake up tomorrow looking forward to having a great day instead of dreading it. I will continue to support campaigns, sign petitions, write letters and give help when I can. I feel there is a more important message that needs to be broadcast, however. Know your self. Know your real self. Know what this life is about. Know your purpose on this planet. Know the true value of life. Be at peace with yourself.

There has been the biggest campaign ever this year to encourage governments and the rich to act and make poverty history. But millions of people still live in extreme poverty.
