RSS (Really Simple Syndication)
Masses of information on the web can become overwhelming. Ideally you only want to view the info you need. RSS can help by delivering the latest content directly to you.
To do this: (and this is all free of charge)
- Get a newsreader (see below)
- Find the website’s RSS or XML link (more and more sites are providing these now)
- Subscribe (an automated process)
- Check your newsreader whenever you like and read the latest entries posted on your selected websites
Here are a few newsreaders:
- Windows
- Newz Crawler
- FeedDemon
- Awasu
- Mac OS X
- Newsfire
- NetNewsWire
- Web
- Bloglines
- My Yahoo!
- NewsGator
These are all simple to use but you could also Google to find one.
